Nicola Ghiuselev - The Bass

Nicola Ghiuselev was born in Pavlikeni, Bulgaria. He is among the most famous representatives of contemporary opera performing art. His extraordinary talent is revealed in the exciting stage characters, which captivate the audience and have a strong influence as a result of his profound, brilliant and sincere interpretation. Ghiuselev's characters are not the traditional resurrections of well-known models, but full-blooded, versatile personalities, who keep up a continuous emotional link with the contemporary spectator. Ghiuselev succeeds to suggest the main line in the spiritual world of his characters in way Shalyapin did. His inspired face, his eyes, which say so much - sometime hot with sorrow, sometime ice-cold and cruel or shining cunningly... And then rings his voice - the deep, beautiful bass, sounding freely in its full range. The actor Ghiuselev is striking with his inner energy and passion, with his deep emotional potential. He creates extraordinary experiences and emotions. And his gesture - it is so expressive, tender and shy, tempting or forgiving. Always energetical, this gesture is an exquisite and precise expression of his scenic thought, it gives perfection and completeness to the stage character. Carried on the wings of inspiration Ghiuselev's artistic soul makes us live with him, be excited with him, believe him.

A student of the world-famous vocal pedagogue, professor Christo Brumbarov, Ghiuselev combines the basic elements of the Bulgarian vocal performing school the faultless technique of the Italian belconto and the Slavic emotional intensify. Being an excellent painter, as a graduate of the Sofia Academy of Fine Arts, Ghiuselev demonstrates his universal culture and talent in more than 70 stage characters, which leave a strong impression in the most famous opera bouses and concert halls all over the world: Staatsoper - Wen, Teatro alla Scala - Milano, I'Opera - Paris, Covent Garden - London, Bolshoi Theatre - Moscow, Metropolitan - New York, Teafro Colon - Buenos Aires, Arena di Verona, Teatro di San Carlo - Napoli, Teatro Regio - Parma, Deutsche Oper - Berlin, etc.
